Video Guide
#1 Dress business casual.
Unless otherwise specified, you should pick out an outfit that is business casual. Please avoid overly distracting bold patterns, instead opt for neutral colors and bring a jacket should you choose to wear a sleeveless top.
#2 Review our clothing recommendations below.
Women may want to choose from pants, a skirt, or a dress, and a blouse, short-sleeve top, or long-sleeve top. Men may choose to wear pants with a button-down shirt, collared shirt, sweater, or pullover.
#3 Avoid Distracting Patterns.
Avoid clothing patterns such as small checks, pinstripes, or herringbones, especially if there is a sharp contrast in color. Such contrasting patterns often generate a distracting shimmer when viewed on camera. Avoid highly reflective materials and any clothes that make a distracting noise when you move because it could impact the video audio.
#4 Keep Accessories to a Minimum.
Avoid jewelry that may create loud sounds or cause reflections that the camera can pick up.
#5 Remember there’s a chance you’ll be mic’d.
If you have a speaking part in the video, remember that there’s a chance we’ll use a wireless microphone. Any clothing with a v-neck or button down the front is preferable. The safer choice is to wear separates rather than a dress. For example, if you wear a jacket or button-down shirt with pants, you can place the mic on the lapel/collar and attach the battery pack to the waistband of the skirt or pants.
