Mercer University is committed to making academic excellence affordable. High school students and transfer students can apply for a variety of special scholarship opportunities through Mercer University to support their financial needs. Mercer offers a range of scholarships, including scholarship challenge events specific to academic interests such as Engineering, Business, or Journalism and Media Studies.

Apply to Earn an Academic Scholarship

Certificate of Achievement and Service Excellence

Designed for rising high school sophomores and juniors, Mercer University's Certificate of Achievement and Service Excellence (CASE) program seeks to identify students who embody Mercer's commitment to research and service.

To be a CASE Scholar, students must hold a 3.5 GPA or higher, demonstrate continued involvement in service during high school, and be nominated for the program by a school counselor or teacher. Eligible nominees will then be invited to apply to the program by the Office of University Admissions. Scholars will be awarded the Certificate of Achievement and Service Excellence along with a $500 scholarship, contingent upon their acceptance and matriculation to Mercer University.

Fabian Distinguished Music Scholars Program

This prestigious scholarship program provides aspiring students with creative opportunities and exceptional support to become leaders in the music and the arts. Fabian Distinguished Music Scholars demonstrate a deep commitment to the musical arts through a lifestyle of intellectual, musical, and creative pursuits.

FIRST Robotics Scholarship

As a strong supporter of science, engineering, and technology, Mercer University has established a scholarship fund to recognize students participating on a FIRST competing team during their junior or senior year of high school. Students selected as FIRST Scholars are eligible to receive a $3,000 non-renewable scholarship.

Five Star Scholarship

Mercer's Five Star Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship opportunity for academically talented first-year students from Central Georgia. To be considered for this scholarship, students must reside in one of the following Georgia counties: Baldwin, Bibb, Butts, Crawford, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Peach, Twiggs, Upson, or Wilkinson.

Griffith Scholars Program

The Griffith Scholars Program, established by Macon native Benjy Griffith, is an investment in local students, Mercer University, and the Macon community. The Griffith Scholarship covers the remaining balance of Mercer's annual tuition, fees, room, and board after all other scholarships and grants have been applied.

Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship Program

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholars Program equips students who have demonstrated academic excellence, service, and leadership to achieve their educational goals.

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship provides recipients with an academic community combined with leadership development and mentorship opportunities. Along with this experience, recipients are awarded a scholarship, which is renewable up to eight semesters.

REACH Scholars Program

Current Georgia REACH Scholars are eligible to apply for Mercer's REACH Scholarship. A select group of students will receive $5,000 in addition to their existing REACH scholarship from the state of Georgia.

Spencer B. King, Jr. Creative Writing Scholarship Competition

Open to high school juniors, the Spencer B. King, Jr. Creative Writing Scholarship offers up to $8,000 (up to $2,000 per year) toward the cost of tuition at Mercer.

To participate in the scholarship competition, students must complete an application and submit a work of short fiction of no more than 700 words or two poems totaling no more than 700 words.

Stamps Scholars Program

Mercer is proud to be among an elite group of universities that offer the Stamps Scholars Program. Through this program, the University seeks to identify the most outstanding students in the incoming class and recognize them for their exceptional academic achievement, demonstrated commitment to leadership, and passion for making a positive impact win the lives of others.

Tift Scholars Program

The Tift Scholars Program honors a select group of young women at Mercer with scholarships and inclusion in one of the University's most distinguished scholastic organizations. A Tift College Scholar is known for her intellect, leadership abilities, values, and commitment and dedication to the service of others.


Experience a Mercer Scholarship Weekend

Mercer University extends invitations to Presidential Scholars Weekend in January and Heritage Scholars Weekend in February to only the most talented first-year applicants. During these invitation-only scholarships events, students will interview with faculty, staff, and alumni; participate in academic experiences; and tour Mercer’s historic Macon Campus.

Engineering Scholarship Challenge

Mercer's Engineering Scholarship Challenge is open to seniors and transfer students interested in pursuing a major in Mercer's School of Engineering. While on campus, students will have the opportunity to earn scholarships, meet Engineering faculty and students, tour labs and facilities, and tour our historic Macon Campus.

Business Scholarship Challenge

The Business Scholarship Challenge is open to high school seniors and transfer students interested in pursuing a major in Mercer's Stetson-Hatcher School of Business. Scholarship awards earned through participation in this event replace any initial merit scholarship offer and may range up to full tuition.

Media Changemaker Scholarship Challenge

Are you ready to join the next generation of media innovators? If you think you are up to the challenge, get ready to join us on campus. The Media Changemaker Scholarship Challenge is open to high school seniors and transfer students interested in pursuing a major in Journalism or Media Studies. Scholarship awards range up to full tuition!
